Maurice M. Zarmati, President & Chief Executive Officer of Costa Cruise Lines-North America, oversees sales development, marketing, revenue management, finance, human resources and passenger services for the North American region for Europe's Number One Cruise Line. He reports to Gianni Onorato, President of Costa Crociere. His cruise career began in January 1970, when he joined Arison Shipping. Two years later, he worked with the legendary Ted Arison and was part of the original team that formed Carnival Cruise Lines. Zarmati was named vice president of sales in 1987, a position in which he became responsible for the largest field sales force in the cruise industry.

Schreiner has been extremely involved in the development of the modern river cruise concept and has been promoting these products since 1993 to the travel industry--first in a leadership role at Uniworld and then as President of Viking River Cruises. In 2002 Schreiner teamed up with Jimmy Murphy and Kristin Karst and founded Amadeus Waterways (now AMAWATERWAYS). In 2003, in a marketing partnership with Globus (Lugano, Switzerland) Schreiner developed the river cruise product of Avalon Waterways, a Globus subsidiary. Today, AMAWATERWAYS owns six brand-new ships in Europe and has ordered a seventh ship for delivery in April of 2010. AMAWATERWAYS also operates ships in Russia, France, Portugal and on the Mekong River.
